Following our long day of hiking Tongariro, Zorina and I were happy to lay around all day to recover. One day was plenty enough though, and the next morning we were up and at 'em early again...but this time to get to river for a day of white water rafting. The crisp mountain stream was perfectly clear and actually part of a natural spring. They handed us cups and encouraged us to just take a scoop from the river to drink if we were thirsty at any point in the trip. Once we got going though, there was not loads of time to be just grabbing a drink as we crossed over 52 rapids in the next few hours.
