Cathedral Cove

After our first few days settling in in Auckland, we drove four hours out to the Coromandel Peninsula to check out Cathedral Cove. Famous for being used in the filming of 'The Chronicles of Narnia' we got lucky with a beautiful day and the scenery definitely lived up to the hype. More of a walk than a hike, the hardest part was the steep uphill walk along the sidewalk for about 40 minutes to reach the entrance (we didn't know how close we could park). Although most tourists find their way to the tunnel through the cliff-face, we managed to find some more secluded beaches along the way and even spent time wading in the freezing water with stingrays.
